10 IN 10


One week down and the ENTIRE year to go. Wherever you spent the holidays this season, I hope that they were Merry and full of down time eating, drinking, relaxing and indulging in all of your favorite things. I know that my holidays were every bit of these things, for that very reason, I am highly aware that it is time to settle down and focus on my 2017 goals. One of my Resolutions this year is to focus on my workouts more and follow a more strict and consistent schedule. Another is to spread my passion for Pilates to more and more people that I meet.

Ever since my college days at the University of Texas at Arlington (Go Mavs!), I would often start my morning off with a quick Pilates session that I would follow on a DVD. I guess you can say, that I first discovered Pilates through an old school Mari Winsor DVD. I immediately began feeling and seeing the differences in my body. My posture improved, I felt taller each day and my flexibility increased like crazy. I quickly noticed that my balance was better and all of a sudden, I was calmer and had better focus in my classes.

Fast forward to the past year, and I admit I didn't always wake up and do a Pilates session before I started my day, and that's that, I even have a Home Studio equipped with a Reformer & Cadillac machine. Don't get me wrong, I did lot's of Pilates, it just wasn't a consistent morning thing anymore. So for the past week and the year ahead, I have committed to starting my day with a Mat Session.

I know that each and every one of you can benefit from Pilates like I am. So, I created this 10 minute Classical Pilates Mat guide video for you to try in your free time. It is basically the first 10 exercises in the Mat Series. Whether you are a seasoned vet or have never even lied down on a mat, this quick Pilates routine is doable for anyone cleared to exercise.

In as little as 10 minutes, you will tone and sculpt your entire body. I know that seems like a short time, but I promise, you will feel stronger leaner and more flexible throughout your entire day. Just follow along with the video above and you can sculpt your body anywhere, anytime. You should start feeling changes in your body after just one week, but can you imagine the changes that you will see after 30 days?

Be creative. If you are on vacation or a work trip and there's not enough space in your room, use the hotel gym or even the bed. Consistency is the name of the game, so just try to keep somewhat of a routine going, it's 10 minutes guys.

2. Roll-Up- 8X

3. One Leg Circles- 8X Each Direction & Each Side

4. Rolling Like a Ball- 8X

5. Single Leg Stretch- 10X Each Side

6. Double Leg Stretch- 10X

7. Scissors- 10X Each Side

8. Lower Lift- 10X

9. Criss-Cross- 10X

10. Spine Stretch Forward- 6X
